US Road Rally Challenge Pandemic Precautions

Are you concerned about your health safety if you’re considering rallying in the upcoming (Nov 13-15) US Road Rally Challenge (USRRC) being hosted by the Detroit Region SCCA?

Detroit Region USRRC rally organizers are fully cognizant of the risks posed by the coronavirus in this difficult time. They have worked especially hard to consider those risks and have initiated numerous measures to help ensure your safety and health. And they bring the experience of running a successful, infection free rally with 26 teams this past September, the 72nd running of Press On Regardless, to bear upon the task.

Here are the steps the rally committee has deployed to help ensure an enjoyable, but still safe, USRRC:

  • Online registration only on MotorsportReg – there will be no on-site walk-in registrations
  • Online waiver at Speedwaiver.com or SCCA hard card annual waiver only – no handling of paper between folks
  • Use of the Richta timing and scoring system eliminates person to person contact at controls
  • Observing Michigan governor’s current orders regarding COVID-19
  • Use of face masks required whenever folks are away from their car
  • No after-rally indoor rendezvous gathering
  • Trophies will be mailed to the winners
  • Proper social distancing required at all times

As you can see, this year’s USRRC rally committee has worked hard to present an event that will provide an enjoyable three days of rallying while still ensuring particpants’ well being. Don’t let the pandemic keep you from once again enjoying road rallying!

The 2020 US Road Rally Challenge is 3 days of fine rallying, Friday, November 13 through Sunday, November 15. Two National Tour rallies, ‘Hell and Back’ and ‘Pavement Ends’, take place on Friday and Saturday, with a Divisional Course rally, ‘Are You Territorial?’ on Sunday.
