Brian Long, a Chief of Emergency Services, was recently informed that Gary Furman passed away in January due to complications from cancer. Gary volunteered at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix for years and was the Pit MERV Commander. He will be missed by his fellow Fire/Rescue members as well as other Grand Prix volunteers who have known him over the years.
