New RallyCross Site Acquired

Detroit Region SCCA is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new RallyCross site which will host our next event on Saturday, February 10th.

Bundy Hill Off Road in Jerome, MI has agreed to allow DRSCCA to utilize a section of their property for DRSCCA RallyCross events during their winter hours from November 15 to March 15.

Bundy Hill is Southern Michigan’s largest privately owned off road o.r.v. park. The property encompasses 350 acres of land with numerous trails and obstacles for various types of off-road and 4×4 vehicles.

The section of the park we will be utilizing for RallyCrosses is at the center of the property. It is a smooth, hard-packed gravel lot with numerous elevation changes and lots of  potential for fun and challenging course configurations.

The first event held at this site will be our February RallyCross on Saturday the 10th. It was discussed and decided at the January BOD meeting that this will be a non-points event and will be used to evaluate the site and surface for future RallyCrosses. Daniel Hutchinson and Matt Wolfe.will be co-chairmen for this event.

Since this event will not count towards the 2018 Thayer Auto Rallyross Championship, it was also decided at the January BOD meeting that the entry fee for our event on February 10th would be reduced to $35 from the regular $50 entry.

In addition to the reduced entry fee, the region will also be providing a grilled lunch for all participants. Our aim was to make this a fun and laid-back event for all our  members to come out and experience our new site and gather data for future events.

We will be opening registration for this event on MotorsportReg.com in the coming weeks. We will also be releasing a full 2018 RallyCross schedule within the same time period. Mark your calendars and we’ll see you in February!
