The Detroit Region SCCA is hosting its second SIM Racing League. All participants AND spectators are welcome, but only Detroit Region members will be eligible for the Championship trophy.

The DRSCCA Spring II Series will continue to be run using iRacing.

  • Tuesday Nights will use the Formula Ford 1600, with a Monday night practice (7-10PM come an go as you please)
  • Thursday Nights will use the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup (Miata), with a Wednesday night practice (7-10PM come an go as you please)

We will once again be running US based tracks with a special treat in the middle of the season at Detroit’s Belle Isle course. The vehicle set-ups will be fixed.  The schedule for race days will be: 

  • Practice: Tuesdays 7-8 PM – Thursdays 6:30-7:30 PM
  • Qualifying: Tuesdays 8-8:20 PM – Thursday 7:30PM-7:50PM
  • Warm up laps and sponsor interviews: Tuesdays 8:20-8:30 PM – Thursdays 7:50-8:00PM
  • Race: Tuesday 8:30-9:00 PM – Thursdays  8:00-8:30PM

There will be two Championships awarded, once for each car, and we are working on a grand championship for the best of both. Each car will have  total of 7 Championship races will be run will be run with each vehicle. There will be two drop weeks (a minimum of 5 Races are mandatory to be eligible for the 2024 Spring II Series Championship along with DRSCCA membership).

Track Race Series Schedule – 

  • Week of May 13th – Sonoma 
  • Week of May 20th – Mid-Ohio
  • Week of May 27th – Willow Springs
  • Week of June 3rd – Detroit – Belle Isle
  • Week of June 10th – Road America
  • Week of June 17th – Sebring
  • Week of June 27th – Road Atlanta
      • A special, no-points, 2 driver teams, 4-hour enduro race will be held Saturday June 8th 10AM to 2PM EST

Points Standings and Rulebook – Points standings will follow the traditional SCCA points system. Standard iRacing rules apply and SCCA rules are applied when applicable. Minors may be present so we ask that you mind your language.

Registration – Via invite through iRacing service after registration form has been completed. Please allow for more than 2 hours before the beginning of a schedule to receive you invite.

SPECTATING – Not ready to get into SIM racing yet? You can spectate the races via YouTube! Broadcasting starts at the posted qualifying times.

The links for each race to spectate live or post-recorded will be posted as early as two days before the race, or as late as an hour before the race”

In order to participate in the DRSCCA SIM Racing Series, please follow the following steps:

  1. Complete the registration form using this link: https://forms.gle/RRFkCF4TRHa7x8BYA
  2. Join the Discord server using this link: https://discord.gg/wBFKahSDRV. See how to Discord guide below for details.
  3. An invite to join the iRacing league will be sent to you via the iRacing UI. Be sure to accept it!
  4. Once it is accepted, you’re all set!

A trophy is being created for the Series Championship and an award will be provided to the overall champion.

Don’t have a SIM or know how to set one up?…Don’t worry it’s not that difficult and it doesn’t have to break the bank. During the meet & greet we will be coordinating and subsequent session to help those who are in technical help and product purchase guidance.
