Checkered Flag for Pat Pierson

We’ve been informed by Dawn Thomas that her mother, Pat Pierson, passed away on May 29th. She stated in an email to Mary Shiloff that her Mom battled a rare form of cancer since even before her Dad’s, Bob Pierson, passing. Pat had undergone chemo for some time and of course that takes its own toll. It was just recently within the past few months that it was one thing after another. She came home from the hospital on Wednesday, May 27, under hospice care as was her wish to be at home. There will be no service as Pat asked to be cremated and didn’t want any gathering.

Pat and Bob co-chaired the Detroit Grand Prix for many years. Dawn advises that she is not sure what “races” may be run in heaven, but is sure that Bob has been chairing them for the past 5 years and now Pat is once again by his side as co-chair.
