New RallyCross Venue Acquired

We are pleased to announce the acquisition of a new RallyCross site.

On Sunday August 28th, we conducted a test day at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan. A small group of experienced rallycrossers were invited out to determine if the venue would be suitable for future RallyCross events. We are happy to report that the test day was a success and that Auto City Speedway will be a site of future RallyCross events for the region.

The site at Auto City Speedway is a 40 acre clay field with no obstructions or obstacles. It is located to the southwest of the paved oval track. The field was formerly used for growing corn and is intermittently used for other purposes, but is largely dormant for much of the year. Our test day revealed that the surface is quite firm and holds up well to rallycross use. After simulating two complete run groups we found that the surface degradation was minimal. We did not have to make any safety changes during our test. The surface is also very smooth and seemed the course actually seemed to level out with each run during the day.

Our first points event at Auto City will be a two day RallyCross on Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th. Online registration will be posted to Motorsportreg.com and on the region RallyCross calendar. We look forward to seeing you there!
