2025 POR – Recap

Press On Regardless® Road Rally, last event of the 2025 DR SCCA Road Rally Championship series was held during September 5 – 7 weekend. Headquarted in Gaylord, it included roads both in Lower and Upper Peninsulas.

This year POR was two National SCCA Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Events. The route following was straightforward with no tricks or traps. The combined scores of both Friday POR (280 miles, 25 cars registered) and Saturday POR (214 miles, 27 cars registered) was used to determine the overall winner of POR 2025. While crews compete in individual classes (Equipped, Limited, GPS, Stock and Novice) for each rally, overall win is awarded regardless of the class.

Weather was cooperating, with temperatures just right and local rains here and there making sure that roads were not dusty. Unfortunately, they were also making gravel roads slippery, which proved to be too much of a challenge for a couple of drivers. We had one car slip off the road on Friday and another on Saturday. Nobody was hurt though and the only damage was to the cars. Accident and broken cars caused 3 crews to withdraw from Saturday rally, reducing to 24 number of cars competing in the SPOR.

Overall, the rallies went without major hiccups, with significant change to route instructions on Saturday being an exception. Due to road deterioration, a portion of the route was reclassified as transit zone, with several check points canceled.

Overall win and place on the POR trophy went to Mark Stone and Marc Goldfarb from the New England Region (NER).
