Several Detroit Region members made the trek to Lincoln Nebraska for the Solo Nationals this year. Those unfamiliar with the Solo Nationals it is the largest amateur motorsports event in the world with 1249 competitors with times this year. Competition takes place over 4 days with each competitor taking to the course for 2 days. Each drivers gets 3 runs on each course and the fastest combined time is declared the national champion for that class!
With so much riding on it and getting only 3 runs on each course it really is a test of mental might. This year Detroit region had 19 members competing with Detroit as their primary region. There are many more Detroit region joint members that competed as well. Our friends at NWOR and SVR also had a very successful showing. Out of the 19 competitors with Detroit as their primary region we had 8 receive trophies and of those 2 national champions!
