Once again the Detroit Region pulls off an extraordinary National event in Oscoda!
The weather was great, the competition fierce, and the pace of the event was rocking.
The traditional Friday night Fish Fry was a hit with everyone I spoke with. Much gratitude to Marcus and Jen Merideth, and everyone who cooked or served the food. I have missed out on it for the last few years.
The courses were challenging, and I never heard anyone complain about the layouts, that is unusual these days? Other than a timing glitch/delay early on Saturday, the run groups seemed to finish up without problems.
Maybe biggest news.... Larry MacLeod won not only the KM class, but laid down consistently fast runs throughout the Super Challenge, taking the win in a really close final pairing against the KM of Ryan Lower from PA.
I had a great time, and am reminded why I like Oscoda so much.
