Potential New Sites

Post by Racer717 »

The purpose of this thread is not to conjure a discussion of opinions on what a good site is. The purpose of this post is to begin accumulating possible locations that meet or exceed these basic qualifications in order to begin a record or possibilities:
1. At least 23,000 meters-sq*
2. Flat surface with little to no damage (potholes, large cracks, missing surface material) and no major dips or bumps
3. No or very little obstructions (in size and density; the more open space the better)
4. An area in which is or looks to be one that would be attainable on the weekend

*Based off of the small MIS lot; Belle Isle Paddock is about 29,000 meters-sq; Livonia is about 33,000 meters-sq

If you have a suggestion that meets these criteria, make a post with the following:
-Description of the area (Title of area and/or cross-roads)
-Map coordinates or map screenshot of location
-Size (meters-sq)
-Comments on area (what the surface is like, what obstacles are present, etc.)

I will monitor this thread for posts and update the list below with the suggestions. Than, I will do my best to qualify them as meeting SCCA criteria. After that, my hopes are that a conversation can be started with SCCA heads and then the lot owners to see the possibility.

Great post, good call on the Suburban Collection, and a nice start on search for new venues. Thanks.

Palace is one that is on my mind, too, and one that seems to get brought up a lot. Definitely something to consider.

Interesting note on Oakland potentially buying it...

Frank, didn't I see you mention recently that you have found some some site for next season? If so, what sort of proposal packet/paperwork did you put together when reaching out to that site?

If any of you need a Solo Site Acquisition packet that the National Office distributes, please let me know and I have one and can get it to you.

Is the packet electronic? If so, can you e-mail me one? mtstang376@gmail.com
